Tonight, Associated Builders and Contractors New Jersey Chapter (ABC-NJ) proudly hosted their Excellence in Construction Awards Gala at the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park. This annual event features exceptional projects from top merit shop construction firms from across New Jersey, celebrates apprenticeship graduates and the year’s top craft instructor, and the standout woman of the year.
This year’s top award, Project of the Year, went to Worth & Company, a leading mechanical contractor in the Mid-Atlantic, for their work on the Emergency Department at RWJBarnabas’ Community Medical Center in Toms River.
“Our members continue to deliver work that is above and beyond expectations,” said Samantha DeAlmeida Roman, president and CEO of ABC-NJ. “Despite the many challenges contractors have faced, including supply chain issues, these members work with their clients to create solutions and complete projects not only on time, but with safety as a priority. New Jersey communities are thriving because of these projects and our ABC members.”
Eagle Awards were awarded to A&I Electrical Construction, Inc. (Wyndam Dual Brand Hotel Hawthorn & LaQuinta); Alpine Painting & Sandblasting Contractors (Firmenich Manufacturing Facility, Newark Monorail and Wonder Meats); Bancroft Construction (Adventure Crossing USA Golf & Entertainment Facility, Manalapan Crossing Mixed-Use Building); ENCON Mechanical (Henkel, Sensient Technologies); ERCO Ceilings & Interiors (Legacy Country Club); Imperial Flooring Systems (Tops Diner); and V.J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. (Freedom Village at Hamilton Woods, The Peddie School Performing Arts Center).
Additionally, Jerry Brown, CDL Trainer from Earle, was honored as the Craft Instructor of the Year, and the inaugural Apprenticeship Education & Training Fund (AETF) graduating class was celebrated.
