Who Can Apply?
- Recent graduates, veterans, second-career seekers or anyone interested in a future in skilled craft trades
- Individuals 18 years old or older
- High School Diploma or GED preferred for applicants
- Applicants must be capable of performing essential functions of the job
How It Works
Submit your resume to ABC-NJ and we will reply with a survey so you can tell us more about yourself. You will be asked to complete a placement test and we will help connect you to potential employers in your area. If hired by one of our members, your new employer may choose to enroll you in one of our programs, after a minimum 45-day probationary period and then your apprenticeship journey begins.
The Journeyworker Journey – Start to Finish
- Candidate submits their resume to [email protected]
- Candidate completes enrollment survey
- Candidate completed pre-screening test and paperwork
- If selected, candidate is introduced to potential employers
- If hired, candidate begins working full-time and earning pay
- Candidate works with employer for 45-day minimum period
- If selected for enrollment, employer will inform candidate
- Candidate will complete enrollment paperwork
- Documents Needed:
- Driver’s License, Passport or Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Copy of High School Diploma accompanied with Official Transcript OR Just Official Transcript
- If you are a VET, include DD214
- Apprentice is entered into the US DOL Rapid system
- Apprentice attends CORE pre-requisite class
- Apprentice begins tracking On-Job-Learning hours
- Apprentice attends classes and successfully passes examinations
- Apprentice completes 2-4 year apprenticeship program
- Apprentice can test to become a federally recognized Journeyworker
