The average time required to fill out the STEP application is less than 30 minutes, so let’s get started! STEP Applications are due October 1st. Applications submitted after October 1st will be entered for the following year. Instructions regarding STEP criteria can be reviewed at www.abcnjc.org. Safety, Training, Certification, Guidance and Resources

Associated Builders and Contractors, New Jersey Chapter helps its members promote, institute and track world class safety protocols and offers ongoing training for the construction industry from innovative and cutting edge topics to Occupational Safety and Health Administration. We offer in-person and online training in key concepts through our CORE curriculum and safety training, evaluation and recognition through our Safety, Training and Evaluation Process (STEP). These programs are entirely free to members and can help lower your workers compensation insurance rates.

STEP Safety Management System

Safer Than The Industry Average And Still Getting Better The exceptionally valuable STEP program was established in 1989 by the Associated Builders and Contractors National Environment, Health and Safety Committee. Establishing safety processes and policies on 25 key components, the Safety Training and Evaluation Process is a world-class safety management system that recognizes companies through the level of Diamond, Platinum, Golf, Silver, Bronze or Participant based on their level of participation.
